2008 was the year the world changed.  The days of debt-fuelled consumption are over so there needs to be a new look for growth.  This raises an obvious question: Which countries are best placed to be the new forces of global growth? Looking longer term, the answer to this question raises the somewhat more interesting issue of a rebalancing in both global wealth and political influence.  Bevan will muse on the "look and feel" of the world that emerges from the global financial crisis.
